The Intersecting Formula In #Excel

Excel provides and easy way to obtain the value at the intersection of two ranges using a space. Here’s how:

Here we have a small data range of products and months with the unit count for each:

I’ve gone through and named the ranges of each row and column using the “Create from Selection” option in the Defined Names group of the Formulas tab:

Now, to obtain the value at the intersection of any two named ranges, all I need to do is type those range names into a formula separated by a space:

And Excel will give me the answer:
